PRP skin rejuvenation is a minimally invasive, non-surgical and safe option to produce fresher and younger looking skin.

Plasma is a protein in the blood.

This treatment involves microneedling the plasma onto a patient’s face to stimulate the growth of new skin.

The blood before microneedling onto the skin is centrifuged to produce the stem cells and blood products needed that assist in growth and healing.

Blood plasma and microneedling is a suitable treatment for patients concerned about their fine lines, wrinkles and facial folds.

Patients who have scarring are also great candidates for plasma microneedling, the collagen that will be produced after microneedling will greatly reduce the appearance of scars.

Plasma with microneedling is also a great option for patients who wish to boost their skin radiance and correct uneven skin tone. Microneedling produces younger, fresher and smoother skin.

Patients not suitable for plasma with microneedling are: women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients with diabetes, patients prone to scarring, patients with facial warts, infections and patients taking blood thinning medication.

Before starting treatment medical history and consent forms will be completed.

The next step is to take blood from your arm using a needle like you were having a blood test. The blood will be centrifuged to remove the PRP from the rest of your blood.

The PRP is then injected back into the skin by microneedling to stimulate the growth of new skin. Microneedling allows the PRP to enter the skin much more deeply.

Aloe vera will then be applied to the patients face.

Microneedling with PRP has the advantage of increasing the results that microneedling achieves on its own. It does this by producing tighter, smoother skin in a quicker time frame.

At Dental & Skin, we find that most patients do not have a painful experience with plasma microneedling treatment.

We prioritise patient comfort with the use of numbing cream.

After treatment the patient’s skin we will be red in similar appearance to mild sunburn. After 24 hours this will have gone down significantly and in a few days all redness will have disappeared.

Patients will also experience a tightness and the skin may be sensitive to touch.

Patients will notice results just a few days after treatment, skin will feel tighter and smoother.

For full results to take effect, this can take several weeks and results will continue to improve in the following months to a year.

For best results its recommended to have microneedling treatment repeated every 4 consecutive weeks, 3 or 4 times a year.

After your microneedling treatment, we advise all patients to use sunscreen, to protect and hydrate your skin. Patients should also stay out of direct sunlight for a few weeks.

Patients should not exfoliate their skin for at least a week after plasma microneedling treatment.
